Shout out to Zach for suggesting using Sound Lab at O.H.R. to showcase our new songs, raw and unfinished, while we work on our next EP Sonic Spaces!
We continue to focus on capturing emotional moments, life's transitions, but evolving it by searching for the right sonic space, or frequency for each feeling. While also gravitating back towards our Shoegaze roots.
Our first track Settled Deep is about being half-awake and half-asleep, sort of floating somewhere not completely conscious, but at the same time noticing things you normally ignore, like the soft faint hum of the fan. It blends dreamy, ethereal vocals with warm, persistent bass - like that floating feeling while at the same time being comfortably sunk deep into the blanket's warm embrace.
We put it together to see what would come out, and somehow it is like poetic harmony! The sounds amplifies the lyrics. And we found our own sonic space - like a crazy universe where Slowdive hooks up with Peter Hook! Lena coined the term Warmgaze.
Our second track Tether, still in the works, explores a completely different space – the moment when a relationship is severed, and you are finally starting to break free of the invisible presence and weight of the past. It embraces more distorted cutting guitar riffs, zeroing in on roller-coaster emotions of that kind of transition moment in life.
And we've started on a third track, Unfriend Me, which will feature Lena's vocals with a bit more of a punk-style edge.
